Terms & Conditions

Quotes & Pricing

  • Our quotes are valid for 30 days from the date of issue.
  •  All work requires written acceptance of the quote and payment of any required deposit.
  •  All quotes are subject to a final site inspection before work begins.

Note on Electrical Work: Our quotes do not include the provision of a standard power point for gate or door motors. It is the client's responsibility to ensure a licensed electrician provides a suitable power source. We may offer low-voltage power solutions upon request and at a cost.

 

Deposits & Payments

  • A 50% deposit is required for all new gate motors, gates, garage door motor, or major installations before materials are ordered (unless otherwise agreed in writing).
  • Delays in deposit payment may affect project lead times.
  • The outstanding balance is due upon completion of the installation. Commercial accounts have 30 days from the date of invoice to pay the balance.
  • All goods and materials remain the property of Swift Gate & Garage Door Services until paid in full.
  • If an installation is delayed by the client for more than 14 days after the product is ready, the full balance will become due immediately. A storage fee of $45 + GST per day may apply.

 

Scope of Work

  • The work to be performed is strictly limited to the details specified in the accepted written quote.
  • Job Finalisation: Once the agreed-upon work has been performed and the final invoice has been paid in full, the contract is considered 100% complete and finalised.
  • Additional Work: Any requests for new work, modifications, adjustments, or repairs made after the job has been finalised are considered separate from the original contract. Such work will be treated as a variation work and will require a new written quote, which must be accepted by the client, and will be chargeable at our standard service rates.

 

Warranty

  • We provide a 24-month warranty on parts for new installations (unless otherwise stated).
  • Service or repair work on existing systems does not carry a warranty unless specified in writing. 
  • Extended manufacturer warranties may apply to specific motors or doors. Organising claims under these manufacturer warranties after our 12-month period may incur service fees.
  • To keep your warranty valid (where warranty is more than 12-month), your automated system installed by us must be serviced by us annually (residential) or biannually (commercial). High-usage systems may require quarterly servicing, which will be specified in your quote.
  • Warranty service is only provided during standard business hours. After-hours calls will be charged at the rate stated in our price list.
  • Emergency callouts are not covered under warranty.
  • Warranty is void for goods installed in corrosive environments (e.g., coastal areas with salty air), repairs performed by someone other than SGG Door Services or damaged by water, flooding, insects, animals, or their droppings.
  • Damage from Structural Failure or External Events: Any damage caused by the failure of the client's structure (e.g., posts, hinges, gate) or by external events such as strong winds, acts of nature, or vandalism is not covered under warranty. This includes situations where the motor detaches and falls. In such cases:
  • All necessary structural repairs (e.g., to brickwork, wooden posts, metalwork) are the sole responsibility of the client and must be completed at their own expense before we can return to site.
  • The re-installation or re-mounting of the motor following such an event is considered a separate chargeable service and will be quoted accordingly.

Installation & Repairs

  • For the duration of the installation, there will be no vehicle or pedestrian access through the work area. If our technicians are unable to work due to a lack of clear access, a rebooking fee of $320 + GST will apply.
  • A clear working area with a 3.5-meter radius must be provided.
  • Client's Responsibility for Structural Integrity: It is the client's sole responsibility to ensure that the existing gate, posts (whether wooden, brick, metal, or any other material), and hinges are structurally sound and of adequate strength to support the weight and operational forces of the automated gate motor. We are not liable for any damage or failure resulting from inadequate or weakened client-supplied structures.
  • Force Majeure & External Damage: SGG Door Services is not liable for any damage caused by strong winds, acts of nature, vandalism, or any other external events. This includes, but is not limited to, damage caused by the gate or motor falling due to such events. The client's structure must be strong enough to withstand local environmental conditions.
  • While we strive for a close colour match during any welding or touch-up work, we cannot guarantee a perfect match. For a flawless finish, we recommend the client to engage a professional painter at their own expense.

 

Safety & Security

  • For safety reasons, we do not install manual locks on automated gates and doors. Electronic locking options are available at an additional cost.
  • We strongly recommend the installation of safety beams and other safety devices on all automated gates and doors. These are available at an additional cost.

 

Site Preparation & Permits

  • Quoted prices assume suitable ground conditions. Concreting or other groundworks are not included unless specified.
  • It is the client's sole responsibility to locate and mark all underground utilities (water, gas, electricity, etc.) before we commence work. We accept no responsibility for damage to unmarked services.
  • The client is responsible for clearly marking all property boundaries.
  • The client is responsible for obtaining any required building or council permits and ensuring the work complies with all local regulations.

 

Cancellation Policy

  • For scheduled servicing or repair appointments, we require a minimum of 24 hours' notice for cancellation. Late cancellations or missed appointments may incur a fee if we are unable to fill the technician's scheduled time.

 

Agreement

  • By accepting our quote in writing, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
